Vietnamese
It is the official language of Vietnam and is spoken by around 75 million people both in Vietnam and outside of Vietnam especially United States and France. Origin of Vietnamese language is unclear and linguists debate about its language family. However it is considered as one of the languages belonging to Austro Asiatic family of languages. It is greatly influenced by Chinese and a lot of philosophical, religious, literary and governmental terms have become vocabulary of Vietnamese language.
Vietnamese is a monosyllabic, tonal language with each word having six tones and six different meanings according to the tone it carries. It has three systems of writing called Chu Nho, Chu Nom and Quoc Ngu. Vietnamese is spoken in three dialects corresponding to Northern, Central and Southern Vietnamese.
